$75,000 donation fuels year of support at Bend’s Juniper House
Mid-Oregon Credit Union is donating $75,000 to New Each Morning to support operations at Juniper House, a new sober living home for women in northeast Bend. The funding will cover a full year of expenses as the nonprofit prepares for its grand opening.

New Each Morning, a Bend-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting women in recovery, announced Monday the upcoming grand opening of The Juniper House Sober Living.
The community is invited to an open house on Sunday, Feb. 15, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at 62466 Eagle Road in Bend, the organization said in a news release that continues below:
The Juniper House addresses a critical gap in Central Oregon's recovery continuum: safe, stable housing for women transitioning from treatment programs to independent living.

“I realized, wow, I’m drinking to get drunk. I’m drinking to black out,” she says. She was arrested four times within 10 years for driving under the influence, resulting in her losing her driver’s license for 10 years. She spent time in jail, lost several jobs, even tried rehab —which didn’t work.

Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation awards nearly $100,000 to nine Deschutes County nonprofits
Those nonprofits include Council on Aging Central Oregon, Deschutes Children’s Foundation, Destination Rehab, Every Child Central Oregon, Friends of the Children, La Pine Community Health Center, New Each Morning, St. Vincent De Paul La Pine, and The Giving Plate.
